Initially we provided the design for the 7 condo buildings and the experience pool. Located on the volcanic slopes of Sint Eustatius, between the Quill volcano and the Atlantic Ocean, Golden Rock Resort is developed as integrated architectural and landscape ensemble.
Buildings are positioned to optimize views, natural ventilation, and solar orientation. The architectural concept contrasts with the nature, clear white and rectangular lines, theatrically aligned.
Sustainability is embedded as a core design principle. The project integrates green infrastructure, energy-efficient systems, and extensive planting strategies to support ecological resilience and reduce environmental impact. The landscape is not treated as a backdrop but as an active, spatial component that shapes movement, privacy, and microclimate across the resort.
Continuously the design for the additional villa’s is from 2022, however, a different concept is currently being constructed. The development included the introduction of sixty Earth Villas. These dwellings are partially sunken into the terrain and capped with green roofs, allowing them to merge seamlessly with the natural topography.
Integrated into the surrounding vegetation, the villas offer a high degree of privacy while maintaining panoramic views of the ocean and volcanic landscape. This approach minimizes visual impact, enhances thermal performance, and reinforces the resort’s overarching ambition: a sustainable, landscape-driven model for contemporary Caribbean living.
