The site sits at a lower elevation, without ocean views, and offers limited privacy for conventional ‘’sint maarten style’’ outdoor pool arrangements. In response, the design reinterprets the typical villa layout by positioning the pool within an elevated inner courtyard. This unconventional approach transforms a constraint into a defining feature, creating a secluded, serene patio that offers an exceptional sense of tranquility.
The bedrooms are arranged around the courtyard, embracing the pool and reinforcing an atmosphere of calm and introspection, evoking the quiet serenity of a monastery.
The roofscape complies fully with the neighborhood’s strict architectural guidelines while enhancing both the interior spatial experience and the overall harmony of the two-villa ensemble.
